The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Tennis on Campus team is going through some changes with only three returning members from last year’s team. On the men’s side the team returns three players in John Chambers (captain), Bill Dugan, and Brandon Peterson. There are no returning players on the women’s side.
The Moccasins promote good sportsmanship and have a unique way of showing it. Any time a player drops (or throws) their racquet in practice, the whole team follows suit. Not only does this help promote good sportsmanship, but also helps develop unity between the older and younger players. "In a mixed doubles match last semester vs. UT Knoxville," said Chambers, "a UTK player dropped his racket on the court and out of habit (or to be funny, I’m not sure which). Freshman Michael Wiseman and sophmore Becca Mabry dropped there racket on the court." Chambers continued, "All of us watching had the hardest time not laughing!"
While the young team carries a bright future for the Mocs, the team is looking forward to competing for a Campus Championship title this weekend at Auburn University.
