Rules & Regulations Revised

September 2, 2010 10:35 AM
The USTA Southern Board of Directors voted new USTA Southern Rules & Regulations into effect in August 2010. We encourage all members and players to read the regulations, especially those Rules & Regulations that affects them. Click here for the Rules & Regulations.
The significant changes are:
  • Complete reformatting of the regulations. Specific delineation of regulations by junior programs, adult programs, and a general section containing requirements or limitations which relate to any Southern member participating in organized USTA Southern programs.
  • Modification of the procedures dealing with suspension of junior tournament players who reach the designated threshold of suspension points. Players who are suspended under this procedure are now automatically suspended from play (for the period designated in the regulations) immediately upon reaching the suspension threshold, and remain suspended during any appeal process.
  • Clarification of requirements for entry into Southern Closed Junior Tournaments
  • Clarification of residency requirements, for both adult and junior players, for participation in any Southern closed event
  • Clarification of the delegation of regulation authority for all Southern program
  • Codification of programs not previously referenced in official USTA Southern documents (like Jr. Team Tennis, Southern Senior Cup, Adult Intersection teams, etc.)
