Lexington, Ky. will host its 19th consecutive USTA Pro Circuit tournament this year at the $50,000 Fifth Third Bank Tennis Championships. The Challenger will take place from July 22-28, and should prove to be a fundamental stepping-stone to many US Open hopefuls. The tournament will feature a singles and doubles draw for both men and women.

Back in 2012, the USTA Player Development announced that the American man and woman who earns the most ranking points at select USTA Pro Circuit during the summer will receive a wild card into the US Open. Therefore, there could be a lot riding on the line at this year’s Lexington tournament. The new qualifying system has provided much success for many professional players, with Brian Baker being a prime example.

Competition will take place on the University of Kentucky Boone Tennis Complex’s hard courts.
