Food Court Feeds Tennis Fans

By Dylan Rice | BB&T Atlanta Open

The weather has been typical of a Georgia summer throughout the BB&T Atlanta Open, but the food court provides tennis fans with great options to refresh and fuel up.

The Michelob Ultra Beer Garden greets those with and without tickets as they approach the main entrance and provides shade from the sun, television coverage of the tournament and a variety of tasty beverages.

Inside the stadium, sponsors like Korbel, Blue Point Brewing Company and Goose Island Beer Company provide plenty of ways to cool off.

“It’s been fantastic. Having the weather hold up today was beautiful,” Rob Frazer of Premier Events said. “We’ve been doing the fresh squeezed lemonade with vodka which is really, really popular. We’ve got the raspberry lemonade in the Sun Quench tent. The different sponsors Clos du Bois, SVEDKA, Rosa Mexicano margaritas all have been big hits.”

There are plenty of food choices as well, as Atlantic Station’s own Rosa Mexicano has provided plenty of tasty Mexican cuisine. Stadium staples such as popcorn and jumbo pretzels have also been popular choices.

Ice cream and frozen lemonade have been great options for those looking for an energy boost or to satisfy that sweet tooth.

The food vendors have been more than happy to assist tennis fans with their dining needs and have enjoyed the overall experience of the Open.

“It’s kind of cool to see the athletes take pictures with the kids and sign their tennis balls, shirts and stuff. It’s a pretty bustling event,” Heather Guerrero, a food vendor, said. “People are nice. We’ve been steady, and a lot of folks have been very generous with their tips so that’s very nice.”

Yacht Rock Revue’s special post-match concert on Wednesday night was the perfect time for fans to enjoy music, food and an adult beverage or two.
