USTA Southern Local Leader Liaisons

The USTA Southern Local Leader Liaison (LLL) is a new pilot program. USTA Southern seeks to contract with three LLLs in 2018. The objective of the LLL is to enhance the visibility and quality of tennis programs and activities in a specific geographic area. Those goals will align with the USTA state and section’s goals.

WHAT: Each community has different needs; thus, the specific responsibilities of each LLL will vary according to the needs of the community served. USTA Southern will consider the needs of the local tennis community in determining specific goals for the LLL, with input from local tennis community representative/s, the USTA state organization and the applicant. The LLL will work closely with the USTA Southern staff and provide progress reports on a regular basis. The LLL will be a point person to pull together the local tennis assets, serve as a tennis ambassador, and as an informational resource..

WHERE: For the purposes of this program, “local” is defined as either a single metropolitan area or an area encompassing a number of smaller towns. USTA Southern will determine the locations of the three pilot LLLs after an application and interview process.

WHO: While there is no magic formula for the skill-set required, the ideal LLL is a self-motivated individual who demonstrates a real passion for tennis with a broad knowledge of the goals and priorities of USTA Southern. A full understanding of the needs of the local community are a must, and the ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, is crucial. This position will entail marketing and promotion, requiring an applicant with  “people skills.”

Click here to apply. Deadline is Dec. 31, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time.

For information about how to apply for the LLL pilot program, contact Andrew Feldman at 770-368-8200 or email feldman@sta.usta.com.
