Kaitlyn McCarthy
With qualifications completed, several Americans made it through to the main draw on the girls and boys side. This weekend was for registration, first round singles matches, and practicing on the clay inside Roland Garros. I had to wait until Sunday evening to get my full credentials. However, with limited access I was still allowed to practice with fellow American, Michaela Gordon, on court 9 at Roland Garros. After receiving full credentials yesterday, I was able to eat in the players lounge and got access into the ladies locker room.
My parents and I did manage to do some sight-seeing Friday afternoon and evening. We saw Notre-Dame, walked the Champs-Elysse, and climbed the Eiffel Tower.
Today I am playing doubles with another American, Sofia Kenin. We are both extremely excited at the opportunity to play at The French Open.
