Diane Barker's Blog For Senior ITF in Turkey

On the plane

Diane and Jack Barker

Great trip. ...  Okay it was tiring as it took 24+ hours,
The hauling of four bags of which two were slightly overweight thus causing more in the carry-on and less in the suitcase.
The trip started in the "best tennis town" in America, Charleson, S.C., and Iended in Antalya, Turkey. There were stops in Charlotte, New York, and  Istanbul, in which many members of the USA team joined the journey. They were identified by those big racket bags that cause flight attendants to give the Turkish Evil eye and speak the words, "You can try to put that in the overhead bin."
The flight from Istanbul to our final destination took only an hour. Then, we were transported to the club, fed, refreshed and then to the practice court.
Life lesson from day one is like mother said, "You will get what you give and deserve." Travelers that treat others with respect and believe that workers are doing their best will get respect from airline employees and arrive with smiles.
Day 2 ... Practice in the wind. FUN!!!!
