Weird Weather As USA Downs Argentina

Diane and Jack Barker

mcc_two_players
Big match in the 55 ladies USA bracket as yesterday winners are matched against each other.

USA versus Argentina
Susan Wright played No. 2 singles taking the court in light rain The very wet court did nothing to stop Susan's powerful serve and ground strokes, as she cruised 6-2, 6-1

The skies cleared as I took the court at No. 1 and, although the court remained wet Ihit through the conditions to secure the match winning 6-0, 6-0.

Tina Kawalsky and Pat Purcell took the court for doubles under sunny skies The court was still playing slowly as the ladies had to play many long, physical points to win 7-5, 6-2.

My observation for the day was that there are a lot of tennis players playing the game with integrity and sportsmanship.

Tomorrow USA against Germany!
