Coordinator, Junior Team Tennis & TennisLink


The purpose of this position is to coordinate operational and technical efforts for Junior Team Tennis and provide support to USTA Southern’s state organizations. The position will also work with applicable departments to insure efficient and effective use of TennisLink software. 

Essential Position Responsibilities

Junior Team Tennis (JTT)

Increase JTT participation within the section.
Promote and develop USTA JTT in USTA Southern. Coordinate efforts and support nine State USTA JTT Coordinators.
Organize and run Southern JTT Championships.
Responsible for ordering, mailing and tracking of all materials, supplies, awards and balls as needed by state and local coordinators.
Coordinate training for and provide support to USTA state organizational staff.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

TennisLink

Coordinate all aspects of TennisLink for USTA Junior Team Tennis for youth.
Oversee tournament registration aspects of TennisLink in USTA Southern.
Provide support for the deployment of Tournament Data Manager (TDM) in the Southern Section.
Implement and maintain the tournament ranking system for USTA Southern for junior standings and rankings. Provide support to the States on the tournament ranking system.
Coordinate and provide the training for TennisLink products.
Provide support for players regarding TennisLink registrations and other functions.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Competencies

Management skills and ability to lead department initiatives and priorities
Excellent communication, both verbal and written
Ability to multi-task as position will manage several projects concurrently
Highly motivated self-starter, enthusiastic personality with desire to promote and grow tennis

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 2-3 years of program coordination experience preferably in the sporting industry
Computer proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
Ability to travel, work weekends, and work out of the USTA Southern office on occasion.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily in an office setting. The position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. At times, this position will be offsite at state offices, meetings and events.  

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk while offsite; use hands to finger and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift up to 10-20 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Typical days and core hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM but will require hours outside of the core business hours. A one-hour unpaid lunch break is provided.

Travel

The position requires travel including but not limited to championships, meetings, workshops and other USTA-related events.
