Jessica Pegula and Eugenie Bouchard won the doubles title by defeating Sharon Fichman and Marie-Eve Pelletier 6-4, 4-6, [10-5]
 
Camila Giorgi defeated Edina Gallovits-Hall 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 to claim the singles title.

Mirjana Lucic beat Melanie Oudin in a hard fought match 3-6, 7-6(4), 6-4.
In doubles Irina Falconi and Coco Vandeweghe beat Erika Sema and Roxane Vaisemberg 6-4, 5-7, [10-7]

Irina Falconi beat Julia Boserup in a very competitive match 3-6, 6-4, 7-5. Falconi advances to the second round where she faces Julia Cohen.

The 2012 Dothan Classic will be held in Dothan, Ala from April 15-22. This will be the 13th year that the city of Dothan has hosted an USTA Pro Circuit event. The total prize money awarded this year will be $50,000. This tournament has grown through the years by hosting $25,000, $50,000, and $75,000 challengers.
 
Played on outdoor clay courts at the Westgate Tennis Center, the Dothan Classic will have main women’s singles draw of 32 and a main women’s doubles draw of 16.
 
In 1999, the USTA commended Dothan’s efforts to grow the game of tennis and bestowed Dothan as one of the four cities nationally to receive the National Program Recognition Award. In 2000, the USTA awarded the Dothan’s Westgate Tennis Center the Outstanding Facility Award. With top class facilities and rising women tennis stars from around the world competing every year, the Dothan Classic is one of the premier tennis tournaments in the state of Alabama.
 
In the second decade for the tournament, the Dothan Classic remains committed to bringing top class professional tennis to the Wiregrass area.
