Southerners Shine in Tennis Industry Awards

Tennis Industry magazine honored six Southern people, business or organizations in its annual Champions of Tennis Awards. This is the largest number of Southern honorees in recent memory.

  • Grassroots Champion of the Year went to the Charlotte (N.C.) Tennis Association Executive Director Carla O’Connor
  • Park & Rec Agency of the Year went to Lexington County, S.C.
  • Private Facility of the Year went to the Tennisclub of the Low Country at Rose Hill, Bluffton, S.C.
  • Pro/Specialty Retailer of the Year to Serious Tennis, based around Atlanta
  • Public Park of the Year to BNA Bank Park of New Albany, Miss.
  • Stringer of the Year to Chuck Hakansson of Life Time Athletic at Peachtree Corners (Georgia)
