Southern women, Southern California men prevail at 6.0 Nationals

SURPRISE, ARIZ. – The Southern section women’s team and Southern California section men's team completed their unforgettable weekends with national titles at the USTA League Adult 55 & Over 6.0 National Championships.

The Southern California men from San Gabriel saved their best tennis for the final, sweeping the Missouri Valley team from Tulsa, Okla., 3-0. Earlier in the day, the California crew prevailed in a hard-fought battle with the Northern section team from Minneapolis, 2-1.

In women’s 6.0 action, the Southern section team from Nashville, Tenn., came through a tight contest against the Pacific Northwest section team from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, 2-1. The Nashville team made it into the championship match with another hard-fought victory in their semifinal against the New England section team from Simsbury, Conn., 2-1.
