Southern Men and Texas Women Win 3.0 Senior Titles

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – The 2012 USTA League Tennis 3.0 Senior National Championships came to a dramatic conclusion on Sunday afternoon.
The Southern Section men’s team from Lake Charles, La. defeated the Caribbean Section team from San Juan, P.R. 2-1, in an exciting 3.0 Senior men’s championship final that was decided in a thrilling match tiebreak in the last match.
In an entertaining 3.0 Senior women’s championship final, the Texas Section from San Antonio, Texas edged the Midwest Section team 2-1, to win the women’s title.
The Pacific Northwest Section men’s team from Olympia, Wash. defeated the Northern California Section men’s team from Oakland, Calif. 2-1, to finish in third place.
The Caribbean Section women’s team from San Juan, P.R. got past the Northern California Section women’s team from Pleasanton, Calif. 2-1, to claim third place.
