November 2, 2012 02:52 PM
How can I train properly during the winter months?
Real Tennis Players - Like You! - Asking For and Offering Advice on the Sport They Love

Player to Player is USTA.com’s regular feature in which everyday tennis players are given a forum to ask advice on the sport they love – and their fellow players will dish out advice. We’ll post a number of the best responses we receive to our question of the week.

Player to Player:
This week's question from Joshua, courtesy of playtennis.com:

Can someone give me an explanation of how to hit a topspin forehand? Also, some tips on how to use it would be nice. Thanks.

Last week's question from Jesse:
(Please note: There is no need to send additional responses to this question.)

I just played my first season for my high school tennis team. It is too cold out to play now, and I was wondering what you could suggest I do for the winter months. Any help would be appreciated!

Player Responses:

From Deepa P., via playtennis.com:

Personally I would try to find some indoor courts nearby in order to stay in good shape.

From Michelle, New York:

I would find a local gym, where you can work on conditioning as well as your tennis game.
