The Florence Open, an United States Tennis Association Pro Circuit Event, is a women's professional tennis tournament with a $25,000 purse.  The tournament features some of the best young players in the world.  The tournament runs from Saturday, October 19 through Sunday, October 27.  All matches will be held at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center in Florence, S.C.

On Saturday, October 19, the tournament begins with Community Day, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., featuring games and activities for families and kids to include lunch--all free to the public.  On Sunday, October 20, Qualifying Rounds begin and continue on Monday and Tuesday with the Main Draw beginning on Tuesday afternoon.  The Main Draw will culminate with the singles finals on Sunday, October 27, 2013, which is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

With over a week of top-notch matches on tap, this event affords the Pee Dee and surrounding region an excellent opportunity to meet and watch the future stars of tennis in action.  Over the years, players like Mardy Fish, Maria Sharapova, John Isner, Caroline Wozniacki, Sam Querrey, Li Na and Andy Murray have launched their professional careers on the USTA Pro Circuit.  The circuit is a proving ground for aspiring professionals as evidenced by last years’ Florence Open winner, Mariana Duque-Marino, who made it to the second round at Wimbledon this year.
