This year the 2009 Zone Team Championships (Zonals) will be played over the same dates, Wednesday, July 29 to Sunday, Aug. 2.
As mentioned, please read carefully, for there are two web site pages for each Zonal. Below, you will be given the ID# for the Southern Application Site as well as a link to the actual tournament home page. To be eligible to represent Southern, you will go to the Southern Application Site ID# of your age division and follow the entry procedure. To gain more information on the actual tournament site, hotels, directions etc., please click on the Tournament Home Page link.
The endorsement requirement for each of the events is to play in the Southern Closed in the age division you wish to play Zonals and to fall into the endorsed group (stated on the chart). We will have six teams representing USTA Southern in Knoxville and Winston-Salem, and five teams at Huntsville. Each team consists of six boys and six girls. Everyone will play a singles and doubles match each round (five rounds). Coaching is allowed in Zonals and each team will have their own coach, assigned by USTA Southern.

There have also been questions of late in regards to the endorsement requirements for Zonals. They are as follows:
- 16 Zonals: Any player who has played in the Southern Closed 16s and whose Southern standing is within the endorsed group. Top 36 boys and top 36 girls who apply will gain entry.
- 14 Zonals: Any player who has played in the Southern Closed 14s and whose Southern standing is within the endorsed group. Top 30 boys and top 30 girls who apply will gain entry.
- 12 Zonals: Any player who has played in the Southern Closed 12s and whose Southern standing is within the endorsed group. Top 36 boys and top 36 girls who apply will gain entry
