August 13, 2008 02:51 PM

With a big smile on his face, Eric Quigley was the featured athlete on Sports Illustrated's famous "Faces in the Crowd" section on the Aug. 18 issue. The recent graduate of South Oldham High won his fourth Kentucky singles championship.

Ranked No. 5 in his class by TennisRecruiting.net, Quigley, of Pewee Valley, Ky., racked up a high school 66-0 record and was USTA Kentucky's Junior Player of the Year in 2007. He received USTA Southern's 2007 Dewitt Redgrave III Junior Achievement Award and is now attending the University of Kentucky.

Other achievements include being named to the two Mills-Redgrave teams, two Intersectional teams and is a four-time winner of the Southern Indoor Closed. He was the first recipient of the Samn English Jr. Award, given to a Kentucky junior dedicated to the sport of tennis and who exhibits exemplary sportsmanship.
