Results From The Atlanta ITF Tournament

October 1, 2007 11:26 AM
Lauren Herring from Greenville, North Carolina and Grace Min from Atlanta, Georgia won the doubles title at the USTA International Tennis Federation (ITF) fall circuit event in Atlanta, Georgia over Courtney Griffith and Alexandra Clay, both from Atlanta, GA. Jordan Cox from Duluth, Georgia and Van Overbeek won the doubles title 6-1, 6-4 over Junior Ore and Raymond Sarmiento. Claire Bartlett from Chattanooga, Tennessee won the Girls event with a 6-0, 6-1 defeat of Alexandra Leatu from Colorado. Herring and Min added their first ITF title to the two USTA National Doubles Championships they previously won in 2007.

Bill Ozaki, USTA Southern Director of Player Development, stated, "Despite their young ages, 14 and 13, Lauren and Grace play excellent doubles. In addition to serving and volleying at opportune times, both players poach extensively and return serves very aggressively. They complement each other very well."

The Atlanta ITF event was held at the Racquet Club of the South in Norcross, GA.
