Team Georgia Outlasts Team Alabama in 2007 Southern Junior Cup

Even though it was for a short time, Georgia got a bit of a scare in the 2007 Southern Junior Cup 14-18’s event. After the conclusion of the boys' singles, round, Alabama was ahead of Georgia 7-2. The Georgia girls quickly put a stop to the run by winning all nine of their matches. The fate of the championship boiled down to a doubles playoff in which Team Georgia prevailed. Congratulations to Georgia for winning the Gold Division followed by Alabama and South Carolina. Champions Club in Chattanooga once again was an exciting place for the Junior Cup as the cheering got louder and louder as the weekend came to a climax on Sunday. Thanks to all the states and their players and coaches for a great weekend. The results are as follows:

Gold Division:
1. Georgia
2. Alabama
3. South Carolina

Silver Division:
1. North Carolina
2. Tennessee
3. Kentucky

Bronze Division:
1. Louisiana
2. Arkansas
3. Mississippi
