Tennessee Junior Captures USTA Boys' 12 Spring National Championship Title

Nick Wood of Knoxville, TN claimed the USTA Boys' 12 Spring National Championships title in Delray Beach, Fl last week. The second seeded Wood cruised through the singles draw with 6-1; 6-0 wins in the first two rounds of play. In the semi-finals he pulled out a three set win over sixth seeded Jared Hiltzik of Illinois to secure his spot in the National Championship final. Wood managed to pull out a hard fought 6-1;0-6;6-1 win over Miami, FL native Roy Lederman to clinch the Championships title.


The USTA Boys' & Girls' 12's National Spring Championships one of the premier amateur tennis events in the United States, and is hosted inDelray Beach, Florida. This event is organized by the sister company of the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships, a $416,000 Men's ATP Tour Event. The tournament is in the process of developing a one hour televised show highlighting the finals of both the boys and girls finals, which will be aired nationally, multiple times, on the Tennis Channel.
