USTA Southern Section Wins 2006 Mills Redgrave Challenge

For the eleventh time in thirteen years, USTA Southern won the 2006 Mill Redgrave Challenge. Although the competition was not determined until the final day, USTA Southern won 49-32. Going into the final day of competition, USTA Southern needed to win four matches. They ended up the day 12-6 with the deciding match being a three set match won by Richard Doverspike. During the weekend each player played three singles and three doubles matches with each win counting as one point for the team. After dozens of match, Team Southern proved that their collaborative effort was enough to bring the title back to the South for one more year.
