The 12 and under USTA Bullfrog Southern Team Championships came to a close Sunday as Team Fraizer was crowned winners of the Gold Division. Awards were given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in three divisions, Gold, Silver and Bronze.
Team’s Fraizer and Davenport were so close it came down to a final ‘nail biting’ match on Sunday. Players competed in singles, doubles and mixed doubles throughout the 3-day competition to claim their title. Teams were made up of the top players in the section with six players represented from each of the 9 southern states.

The USTA Bullfrog Southern Team Championships, formerly the Junior Davis/Fed Cup, was created to give juniors the opportunity to experience the thrill and camaraderie of tennis as a team sport. Hosted at the Champions Club in Chattanooga, TN, top players from each state in the Southern Section are invited to participate in this highly acclaimed event. The Southern Team Championships for the BG (18-14) division will be held September 15-17, 2006 and the Southern Team Championships BG (12) were held the weekend of September 8-10, 2006.
The 2006 tournament is presented by the USTA Southern Section in cooperation with strong local volunteer support. Chattem’s BullFrog Waterproof Sunblock is the presenting sponsor of the USTA Bullfrog Southern Team Championships. Dunlop is the official ball of the championships.
