She’s only 11, but Grace Min is certainly making a name for herself on the junior tennis circuit. Min of Lawrenceville, GA, gave a phenomenal performance at the girls’ 14 USTA National Championships last month in Dothan, AL, sweeping both the singles and doubles titles at the USTA Level 2 event.

Min was dominant in the singles draw, cruising through her first five matches without dropping more than five games against any of her opponents, including a 6-1, 6-1 victory over top-seed Allison Falkin in the semifinals. She had a tougher test in the final, however, pulling out a come-from-behind win to defeat No. 3 Rachael Hart, 2-6, 6-3, 7-5, in a two-hour, 21-minute match.

In doubles, it was an all-Georgia final, with Min teaming with Alexandra Clay of Grayson, GA, to knock off top-seeds Amber Brown of Decatur, GA, and Falking, from Roswell, GA, 8-3.

Currently ranked third in the country in the girls’ 12s, Min is coming off an outstanding year in 2005. She took home the first gold ball of her career in doubles at the girls’ 12 USTA National Hard Court Championships, where she also finished runner-up in singles. She also reached the singles and doubles finals at the girls’ 12 USTA National Clay Court Championships.
