Young On US Open Junior Acceptance List

Donald Young of Atlanta, GA, the current No. 1 boys' player in the world, is among the players on the acceptance list for the 2005 US Open Junior Tennis Championships, which will be held at the USTA National Tennis Center from Sept. 5-11.

Nine of the top 10 boys' players in the world and eight of the top 10 girls are among the juniors expected to compete in this year's tournament.

Besides Young, the 2005 Australian Open boys' champion, other boys on the acceptance list for the year's final Grand Slam are No. 2-ranked Marin Cilic of Croatia, who won the French Open title in May, No. 5 Jeremy Chardy of France, this year's Wimbledon winner, No. 7 Robin Haase of the Netherlands, a Wimbledon finalist and Australian Open semifinalist in 2005, and No. 10 Timothy Neilly of the United States, a quarterfinalist at both Wimbledon and the Australian Open this year and the reigning Orange Bowl champion.
