8 Players Receive College Scholarships

Eight Southern players were recently awarded college scholarships through USTA Serves, the National Charitable Foundation of the United States Tennis Association (USTA). These students have shown their dedication to both tennis and academics and are being rewarded for their hard work. Southern players receiving some of the top scholarships include:

Vivian Hao of Franklin, TN who was awarded the Dwight F. Davis Memorial Scholarship ($10,000 award)

James-Roland Markos of Jackson, TN who was awarded The Rosalind Walter Scholarship Award ($10,000 award)


The following Southern Players were awarded the USTA Serves College Education Scholarship ($8,000 award):


Steffen Campbell of Conway, SC

Robert Conley, Jr. of North Myrtle Beach, SC

Courtney Evans of Elizabethton, TN

Lauren Simons of Saint George, SC


The following Southern Players were awarded the USTA Serves College Textbook Scholarship ($1,000 award):


Ja’Haun Freeman Clark of Atlanta, GA

NeTyeau Teague of Camden, TN


An objective of USTA Serves is to encourage children to pursue their goals and highest dreams by succeeding in school and becoming responsible citizens.  Each year, USTA Serves awards scholarships to deserving youth who have participated in USTA and other organized youth tennis programs, have demonstrated high academic achievement and require financial assistance for college matriculation.
