Querrey Added To Four Southern Events In December

US Open quarterfinalist Melanie Oudin will headline four tennis events planned for Southern cities in December. The Marietta, Ga. resident will be joining the Bryan brothers, John Isner and Sam Querrey who will step in for injured Mardy Fish..

Oudin, who at seventeen years of age became the second youngest American to reach the US Open Quarterfinals since Serena Williams in 1999, will be playing in the 2009 Infinite Energy Atlanta Challenge! Melanie will play a one-set match against a top ranked female opponent who is yet to be announced. This world class event will also feature the #1 team in the world the Bryan brothers, American Sam Querrey and the rising American Star that knocked off Andy Roddick at the US Open, 6'9 John Isner! Following the exhibition are the USTA Australian Open Wild Card Playoffs featuring some of the greatest tennis in America!

Oudin will play the highest ranked American junior in the world, Sloane Stephens. This summer at the age of sixteen Stephens reached the French Open Junior semifinals and Wimbledon quarterfinals.

and women will compete for a wild
card into the Grand Slam tournament.

The tour's four stops are:

The Pelham Challenge, Pelham Civic Center, in Pelham, Ala. on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 6:30 p.m.
The Icy Hot Chattanooga Challenge, Manker Patten Tennis Center in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Thursday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m.
The Infinite Energy Atlanta Challenge, Racquet Club of the South in Atlanta, Ga. on Friday, Dec. 4, at 6:30  p.m.
The Music City Challenge, Curb Event Center, Belmont University, 2002 Belmont Boulevard, Nashville, Saturday, Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m.

In addition six Southern youngsters have qualified for a dream challenge ... they will face the number one doubles team in the world!

The Bryan brothers will be playing three exhibitions later in the year in three Southern cities. Children, ages 12-16, entered competitions to determine who would face the brothers during the tennis event in their city.

Sam Cissell and Andrew Crum won the Bryan Brothers Junior Tiebreak Challenge, which will be played in Pelham, Ala., a suburb of Birmingham, at the Pelham Civic Center. The Rick and Bubba Show, a nationally syndicated radio show, is the presenting sponsor of the 2009 Pelham Challenge. Bill "Bubba" Bussey, one of the show's stars, is a member of the USTA Southern Marketing Committee.

Chattanooga junior tennis players Nathan Schley and Zachary McCormick earned the opportunity of a lifetime by winning the Bryan Brothers Junior Tibreak Challenge at the Manker Patten Tennis Center in Chattanooga, Tenn. Schley and McCormick won a total of 4 ten point super tiebreak matches before eventually ousting Bobby Brouner and Eric Roddy in two tight tiebreaks.

Atlanta junior tennis players Nathan Rakitt and Hunter Reese won the Bryan Brothers Junior Tiebreak Challenge at the Racquet Club of the South. Rakitt and Reese won a total of 4 ten point super tiebreak matches before eventually ousting Austin Smith and Casey Kay in three tight tiebreaks. They will face Rakitt and Reese will face the Bryans at Racquet Club of the South.

Additional prizes including free tickets to the Icy Hot Chattanooga Challenge, Infinite Energy Atlanta Challenge and the Pelham Challenge will also be awarded.
