USTA Gives Members A Big 'Thank You' More than 330 USTA members filled a ballroom at the Racquet Club of Memphis to experience the hospitality of the USTA and the Racquet Club, site of the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships and Cellular South Cup. Additionally, a sold-out audience enjoyed a hard-fought match between 14-time Grand Slam champion Pete Sampras and former No. 1 player Lleyton Hewitt.
Attending members won numerous door prizes and enjoyed a buffet with food and beverages.
The highlight of the event on the afternoon of Monday, Feb. 16 was the presence of two American tour players. Jill Craybas, one of the star's the U.S. Fed Cup's quarterfinal victory over Argentina just a week ago, talked about her successes in WTA competitions. Towering over the assembly was Greensboro, N.C.'s John Isner, the 6' 10" giant who won the NCAA Division I Championship with the University of Georgia two years ago.
USTA Southern's Director of Sales and Marketing Bill Oakes acted as emcee of the 90-minute party, taking questions from the audience for the two star players. All members received a special gift and were allowed to bring a guest. |
