February 4, 2009 05:51 PM

The Marietta Slam featuring tennis stars Robby Ginepri and John Isner is coming to the Marietta Country Club on Friday, March 6. This world class event will offer up close seating in a very upscale atmosphere. Amenities will include private bars, champagne, international food displays and much more.

Atlanta’s own Robby Ginepri has been consistently one of the top ranked Americans and has been as highly ranked as #15 in the world. In 2005, Robby shocked the world when he made it to the US Open semifinals before losing to tennis legend Andre Agassi in 5 sets. Robby is currently the fifth ranked American and is #47 in the world. Robby’s opponent, John Isner, is most well known in Georgia for becoming one of the greatest all-time University of Georgia tennis players. In 2007, he played number one singles and lead the team to a national championship. John then exploded on the ATP tour by making the finals of Washington and defeating tennis stars Tommy Haas, Tim Henman and Gael Mofils. Immediately following he made the US Open third round and took the first set off of world # 1 Roger Federer.

“This is the perfect match up for any tennis fan in Georgia. The Marietta Country Club provides a beautiful intimate setting for this exciting event!” says Trevor Short, president of T & S Events.
