Davis Cup Practice Free To First 500

February 27, 2009 10:41 AM

The first 500 persons who ask for 2009 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas tickets will get into the U.S.'s Monday practice session in Birmingham, Ala. for free.

The tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex Arena ticket office through Saturday. Tickets will also be availabe on Monday. The box office hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This is the first time the USTA will open a U.S. Davis Cup team practice to the public. The session begins at 2 p.m. and the doors open at 1:45 p.m. at the BJCC Arena.

Tickets are limited to four per person.

The open practice session allows the USTA to thank Birmingham for its strong support of the Davis Cup, USTA Director of Public Relations Tim Curry said.

The U.S. team will consist of Davis Cup stalwarts world No. 6 Andy Roddick, No. 13 James Blake and the world’s top-ranked doubles team Bob and Mike Bryan. They will face Switzerland in first-round matches Friday, March 6 through Sunday March 8.
