Tennis Tryout For Players With Hearing Disability Scheduled

The Tennis Committee of the USA Deaf Sports Federation is hosting the second tryout for players with hearing disability at Tucson Racquet & Fitness Club in Tucson, Arizona on December 19-21.

Being United States citizens, players may be deaf, hard of hearing, hearing impaired, cochlear implanted, late deafened, hearing challenged, and hearing disabled. However, to be eligible to play is having a hearing loss of 55 decibels (dBs) or greater in the better ear over an average of 500/1000/2000 Hertz. Participants can be either orally oriented or sign language users.

The purpose is to be nominated for final consideration of the player selection to represent USA for the 2009 Deaflympics in Taipei, Taiwan on September 5-15, 2009.
