USTA Tennis Block Party Grants Available

Interested in receiving a USTA 2009 Tennis Block Party Grant? A web site has just been set up to submit a request and includes extensive information. Dealine is Friday, Jan. 30, 2009.

Tennis Block Parties are easy to organize and provide a great platform for your local tennis programs for players of all ages and abilities. Tennis Block Parties can be hosted at any public facility and should feature two to three hours of tennis instruction, interactive games, and attractions for player of all ages and abilities.

These events showcase the unparalleled health and social benefits of tennis in a fun and dynamic way while achieving three main goals: Introduce new players to the game and your local programs, Generate excitement in players, Create awareness about the USTA and its programs.

Tennis Block Party Grant amounts range based on the following criteria for approval: ability to host the event in May, active USTA Member Organization, commitment to run USTA Programs and/ or formats (Jr. Team Tennis, the QuickStart Tennis Format and/or USTA League), hosting the event at a public facility and providing a marketing budget.

You must attach an electronic copy of your completed Form W-9 Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification along with a marketing budget (page 2 of this application) to be considered for a 2009 Tennis Block Party Grant.
