Young USTA Southern athletes have a fantastic opportunity to test their skills against international players, explore beautiful Vienna, Austria, and train with the renowned Dr. David Porter.
People to People Sports Ambassadors, ages 11-18, compete in an Olympic-style tournament in Austria, playing and making friends with athletes from the U.S. and around the globe.
David T. Porter, Ed.D., serves as the All-Star Head Coach for the tennis athletes. Don’t miss your chance to learn tips and techniques directly from this master from BYU–Hawaii, the only NCAA coach ever to win national championships in men’s and women’s divisions in the same year—twice.
Athletes who apply to the program go through an interview and orientation to ensure that they are ready to represent the U.S. with maturity and sportsmanship. People to People will hold information meetings across the country this winter to introduce athletes to the Sports Ambassador destinations available for summer 2009.
In the meantime, you can learn more about the program online, or call People to People at 888.556.8897. Then watch your mail in the coming months for your invitation to the local meeting.
