Four USTA Southern Facilities Recognized with National Awards

Congratulations to our four USTA Southern tennis clubs for receiving the 27th Annual USTA Outstanding Facility Award. The Huntsville Tennis Center (Alabama), the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center (Mobile, Ala.), the Lake Charles Racquet Club (Louisiana) and the Manker Patten Tennis Club (Chattanooga, Tenn.) received this outstanding award in White Plains, N.Y. August 20, 2008.

The Huntsville Tennis Center and the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center received the award under the Public Court, Large Tennis Centers (11 courts or more) category and the Lake Charles Racquet Club and the Manker Patten Tennis Club received the award under the Private Facilities category.

Nominated facilities were voted upon in the following categories: Public Courts (Large and Small), Educational Institutions and Private Facilities.

The USTA Facility Awards Program intends the recognition of such facilities to encourage increasingly higher standards for the construction and/or renovation of public tennis facilities throughout the country. The facilities have shown tremendous commitment to providing the highest quality tennis experience. Thank you to our four facilities for setting a high standard and a wonderful example the tennis community!

Each facility will receive a one-year complimentary USTA membership, a certificate of recognition, a wooden wall plaque and an all-weather.
