After three years of inactivity following Hurricane Katrina, the University of New Orleans will reinstate their men's and women's program for the spring of 2009. Men’s and women’s tennis coach Burzis Kanga announced the team will begin playing tournaments this fall and a full collegiate schedule next spring.

The university now has a new tennis facility with 20 hard courts and six red clay courts, rebuilt after the hurricane disseminated the city. The school plans to host two collegiate tournaments in 2010.

Coach Kanga, who was the UNO coach from 2003-2004, is recruiting players and can be reached at 504-450-7598,
