For Juanita Gibson her life changed after 50. Most of us hope we can still play when we are 50, but that's when Juanita first got hooked. Fast-forward 34 years Juanita is still playing USTA Senior Tennis at the age of 84. Tennis brings back fond memories for Juanita. Some of her most special moments include having a serving lesson from Arthur Ashe, and watching young Michael Chang practice at the San Diego Tennis Club.

Juanita has traveled all over for tennis visiting England, France and New York for Wimbledon, The French Open and the U.S. Open. One of her greatest memories was entering the last Virginia Slims Cancer Benefit in San Diego, CA. Juanita and her partner reached the finals of the tournament and played on center court with a chair umpire, the experience she described as overwhelming. She entered the tournament for her mother who had passed away from cancer, so winning the tournament was unbelievable for her. Juanita Gibson epitomizes what the love of the game can achieve.
