Lucy Garvin Named to USTA Tennis & Education Foundation Board

The USTA Tennis & Education Foundation, the philanthropic and charitable entity of the USTA, announced the appointment of five new Directors-at-Large to its board including: Lucy S. Garvin of Greenville, SC; Jonathan Vegosen of Chicago, IL; Carol Kimmelman of Bernardsville,NJ and Rancho Santa Fe, CA; Terry L. March of Water Mill, NY; and Paul Palandjian of Boston, MA.

Garvin, who began serving as First Vice President of the USTA in January 2007 has been a member of the USTA Board of Directors for the past seven years.

Vegosen is a founding member of the law firm, Funkhouser Vegosen Liebman and Dunn Ltd. and currently serves as a Director-at-Large on the USTA Board of Directors and on the Board of Directors of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Vegosen was captain of the tennis team at Northwestern University and was selected All-Big Ten.

Kimmelman has been actively involved in mentoring and teaching children both in the classroom and on the tennis courts throughout her educational and professional career.

March is chief executive officer of Midwood Securities, Inc. and has been a securities industry professional for more than 30 years. He is a former member of the New York Stock Exchange and of the New York area firms’ advisory committee to the NYSE Board of Directors. He is an equity owner of The Pacific Life Open at Indian Wells.

Palandjian is the Founder and Managing Director of Somerset Equity Advisors, LLC, an investment management and advisory firm. He was captain of the Harvard College tennis team and world-ranked tennis player on the ATP Tour.
