See Andy Roddick in Action at the Infinite Energy Atlanta Slam

December 10, 2007 03:59 PM

The United States tennis team led by top American ace Andy Roddick is bringing home the Davis Cup trophy. The last time that the US team won the Davis Cup was in 1995 when Pete Sampras played on the team. Roddick defeated Dmitry Tursunov, ATP ranked #34, 6-4, 6-4, 6-2, of Russia last Friday. Roddick and fellow winning countrymen James Blake, and doubles team Mike and Bob Bryan were all jubilant after the straight-match win.

Tennis fans in the Atlanta metro area can come to see Roddick, Wayne Bryan, Sam Querrey, and Georgians Robby Ginepri, Ashley Harkleroad, Melanie Oudin, Scoville Jenkins next Saturday, December 15, at the beautiful Arena at Gwinnett Center at 7 PM. There is no charge for parking.

Come celebrate the Davis Cup win at this event with the whole family as a mini-tennis court will be on-hand for the kids and other great entertainment. The next great American hope and former Georgia bulldog and US Open 3rd rounder, John Isner, is also set to appear at 6 PM to sign autographs for ticket holders. Come early to see the up/down exhibition featuring Karin Korb and Harlen Matthews as they team with local celebrities. Doors open at 5:30 and first match starts promptly at 7.
