Debbie Dotson Swindoll Inducted Into MSU Sports Hall of Fame

Debbie Dotson Swindoll was the first female full scholarship tennis athlete at Mississippi State University, lettering from 1979-82. While at State, Swindoll was a member of the Mississippi Women’s Collegiate All-State Team and was the only Lady Bulldog ever selected for the AIAW Championships.

Since departing MSU, Swindoll has worked as a tennis professional and has been very active as a volunteer with the United States Tennis Association. She has also served on the Southern Adult League Committee, Mississippi Tennis Association Board of Directors, sat as chairman of the Southern NTRP Subcommittee, President of the Mississippi Chapter of USPTA, and member of the Southern Tennis Professionals Relations Committee.

League tennis has captured the majority of her time and talents. She has served as Mississippi’s State Chief Verifier, Southern’s Chief Verifier, a National Verifier and a National NTRP Advisory Board Member.

Among many honors, Swindoll was named the 2002 Mississippi Tennis Professional of the Year by the United States Professional Tennis Association.
