The Country Club of Roswell Tennis Pro-am Charity Invitational was a Huge Success in 29th Year.

July 2, 2007 09:19 AM

This year's event benefited Bert's Big Adventure, a local charity founded by Q100 DJ Bert Weiss of the Bert Show. This organization sends children with chronic and terminal illnesses, along with their families, to a first class week at Disney World. They give these children a chance to step out of their routines of doctors and hospitals and let them be replaced by Mickey Mouse and Cinderella's Castle. To see more about this organization visit them at bertsbigadventure.org.

The CCR event included a pro-sponsor tennis event, free kids clinic sponsored by the Atlanta Academy, Friday night gala, and 124 players in the pro-am tournament. Besides the obvious tennis portion of the event, our feature production was the Friday night event. This gala included live and silent auction, casino styled gaming, live music, and great food. The live auction was again hosted by Bert himself.

For the first time in four years the event was blessed with great weather and we saw some unbelievable tennis. The caliber of pros that continually support our event is fantastic. The members and pros gave everyone there something to cheer about.

At the conclusion of the weekend the most important thing was that we were able to raise $38,000 for a very worthy charity. The CCR tennis staff would like to thank everyone involved for continuing this great tennis tradition.
