After wrapping up their 2007 tennis season, the men and women tennis teams from Vanguard University took time from their busy NAIA schedule to visit Lyons Park for a 2-hour session with the parks NJTL members. The student-athletes from Vanguard emphasized education, setting goals, and using tennis to help achieve success in life. After a brief question and answer session, the NJTL members were treated to a tennis clinic. The clinic was a tremendous success and served as a great beginning for the parks NJTL summer program.
“The kids have been excited about tennis ever since. They were so impressed with the Vanguard teams that eight of them went to see them play the following day” said James Richardson, Youth Coordinator at Lyons Park.
