December 11, 2006 04:18 PM

The Special Populations Tennis Program out of Roswell, Ga received top honors from the USTA as they were awarded the 2006 USTA Sectional Adaptive Tennis Community Service Award. The program run under the direction of Jim Hamm was honored for their outstanding dedication to help those with disabilities through tennis.

The USTA Adaptive Tennis Community Service Award recognizes a person and/or organization that have demonstrated continued excellence, dedication, and service in tennis for special populations, or persons with disabilities. It is the mission of the USTA and USTA Adaptive Tennis to promote and develop the growth of tennis, and to support adapted recreational tennis programs, for those individuals with differing abilities as a result of physical, developmental, mental or environmental challenges.
