Gallovits Blazes Through Competition at Comcast Professional Women’s Challenger

Edina Gallovits entered the Comcast Professional Women’s Challenger as the third seed. She smoked the competition, capturing the title without dropping a set. Gallovits, who was born in Romania and now lives in Atlanta, commanded the final match against Russia’s Ekatuna Afinogenova 6-0, 6-2 to win the $25,000 challenger. The event was held at The Club at Raes Creek in Augusta, Georgia October 24th through the 29th.

Reka Zsilinszka, from Fayetteville, North Carolina and Lindsey Lee-Waters of Dunwoody, Georgia from the Southern Section also played in the event. Zsilinska was defeated in the first round of singles competition by second seeded Hana Sromova. In the doubles competition, Zsilinska and partner Jennifer Tuchband were eliminated in the second round by eventual finalists Chanelle Scheepers and Neha Uberoi.

Lindsey Lee-Waters partnered with Svetlana Krivencheva of Bulgaria. The duo lost in the second round to Fernanda Alves and Tetiana Luzhanska.
