USTA Tennis Teacher Conference Scholarship Opportunity

May 26, 2006 10:21 AM

The Learning and Leadership Development and the Diversity Office of USTA are continuing our partnership to provide scholarship funding for multicultural coaches to attend Arthur Ashe Kids' Day and the USTA Tennis Teachers Conference at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City, August 26 - 29.

Scholarships of $1,000 will be granted to one Multicultural Coach from each section who has not previously attended the TTC.

The coaches are responsible for all related travel, hotel, meal and conference registration fees, and are expected to use the $1,000 scholarship towards these costs. Previous attendees will only be accepted if the section puts the $1,000 toward sending two recipients (i.e. one new and one returning).

In exchange for the scholarship, coaches will be asked to assist at Arthur Ashe Kids' Day events on Saturday, August 26 and serve as moderators during the USTA Tennis Teachers Conference, August 26 - 29.

We are looking for candidates that have:

• A successful culturally diverse tennis program;
• A history of service to their local community;
• Not had the opportunity to attend the TTC before.
