Andy Roddick to Help Raise Money for Literacy Foundation

Lexus of Charleston has been named title sponsor for a star-studded tennis event on Wednesday, May 3rd at 7 PM featuring 2003 US Open Champion Andy Roddick, ATP Tour Star Paul Goldstein and the ATP World No. 1 doubles team Bob and Mike Bryan at the Family Circle Tennis Center, 161 Seven Farms Drive.

We welcome Andy, Paul and the Bryan brothers and look forward to providing the Charleston community with an exciting evening of tennis from some of the sports top competitors," says Lexus of Charleston General Manager David Yarborough.

Tennis fans will also see some of the areas top collegiate players in action representing Clemson, University of South Carolina, The Citadel and College of Charleston, along with the Charleston Professional Tennis League who will kick-off the May 3rd shoot-out with three-tie-breakers. The evening will also include the “Battle of the Brothers” featuring Andy and John Roddick versus Bob and Mike Bryan. This night of excitement will be capped off with a best-of-three sets singles match between Andy Roddick and Paul Goldstein.

Tickets are available at www.etix.com, by phone at (800) 514-ETIX (3849), or at the Family Circle Tennis Center box office on Daniel Island. Reserved tickets are $59.50 and $26.50. Group discounts of $5 per ticket are available for groups of 10 or more.

Roddick and his non-profit foundation, The Andy Roddick Foundation, are teaming up with Radio Station 95SX to help raise money for the Trident Literacy Foundation. Now until 4 PM on May 1 fans can participate in an online auction at www.95sx.com and the winning bid will receive:
-4 VIP Box seats to the All American Tennis Shoot-Out on May 3rd at Family Circle Cup Stadium
-Photo opportunity with Roddick at the Shoot-Out event on May 3rd.
-2 (1 day) Tickets to the 2006 US OPEN in New York City, including roundtrip airfare for 2, two nights hotel accommodations (semi's & final rounds excluded)

The Trident Literacy Foundation was established to increase literacy in Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties through instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, English as a Second Language, GED Preparation, and basic computer use.
