USTA Georgia, the largest state association of the United States Tennis Association Southern Section, is seeking an Executive Director for its Atlanta, Georgia operations.
Responsibilities of the position include:
- Working for the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors (BOD) to implement policies, plans, goals, and objectives; planning for future operations of the organization; coordinating the strategic planning process; fulfilling the mission of the organization;
- Developing the potential of the office staff (currently 8 FT, 2 PT) while managing and coordinating staff programs and services, and serving as liaison between the staff and the Executive Committee;
- Working with the Treasurer to develop the annual budget for Board of Directors approval, executing the budget, and overseeing financial disbursements;
- Representing USTA Georgia at state, regional, and national meetings and events, as directed by the Executive Committee and/or President;
- Organizing several large meetings (workshops, board meetings, retreats, etc.) each year, such duties to range from speaking before the assembly to all the event planning details necessary for the meeting.
Minimum requirements include:
- College degree
- Management experience (3-5 years),
- Background in tennis (a variety of experiences will be considered)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in key Microsoft Office applications
- Working knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting and/or financial methods and operations
- Positive attitude and flexibility
- Willingness and ability to travel, including weekends
