The match will be played on grass and marks the return of Davis Cup play to the site of the United States’ victory over Great Britain in the 1978 Davis Cup Final. This will be the fourth meeting between the United States and Chile in Davis Cup play. The U.S. won the three prior meetings, the last in the 1978 Americas Inter-Zonal Final.
