US Open semifinalist Robby Ginepri had an extra day of rest for his quarterfinal match with Andy Murray after knocking off Nicholas Thomann of France 6-3, 7-6(4) in the second round of the Thailand Open on Wednesday. Unfortuanately the extra rest was not enough to hold off the surging Murray. Ginepri lost on Friday to Murray in three sets 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. Ranked third, Ginepri took the first set but Murray stuck in there and pulled off the upset.

Ginepri was unable to get past the quarterfinals in Thailand, but 2005 has been a surprisingly successful year for the young American. The 21st ranked player in the world, Ginepri has won 31 matches including the finals in Indianapolis, his second singles title as a pro. Ginepri's current ranking is a career high and he has been named a member of the United States Davis Cup team.
