Lee-Waters Making Mark On USTA Pro Circuit

July 5, 2005 10:31 AM

Just off a runner up finish at the MECCO Cup and a Wimbledon qualifying match, Lindsay Lee-Waters headed to Los Gatos, CA where she had a stellar performance in the State Farm Women's $50,000 USTA Challenger. The GA native rolled through the draw only dropping one set for the duration of the tournament. In the finals she met 18-year old Carly Gullickson, daughter of former major-league pitcher Bill Gullickson, who was making her WTT debut. Lee-Waters easily defeated the Pro Circuit newcomer in a 6-4, 6-0 final.

The USTA Pro Circuit is the most extensive developmental tennis circuit in the world. Former players include Lindsay Davenport, Anna Kournikova, Chandra Rubin, Meghann Shaughnessy, Teryn Ashley, Angela Haines, and Mary Pierce. The USTA Pro Circuit serves as the gateway to tennis stardom.

In July the Women's USTA Pro Circuit makes three stops in the Southern Section. Louisville, KY, Hammond, LA and Lexington, KY will all play host to Challenger events. For more Pro Circuit Tour information visit www.usta.com.
