2005 National Public Parks Tennis Championships

On-line registration for the 2005 National Public Parks Tennis Championships is available now through July 15.

The 79th Annual National Public Parks Tennis Championships will be hosted by the Greater Stamford Tennis Association, July 25-31, at Scalzi Park in Stamford, CT, a costal city located 35 miles from the USTA National Tennis Center, home of the US Open, and 40 miles from New Haven, CT, home of Pilot Pen Tennis, a US Open Series event.

This year's event once again includes singles, doubles and mixed doubles championships for players of virtually all ages and abilities, including:
• Men's and Women's Open
• Juniors (10-and-under to 18-and-under)
• Adult Age Group (35-and-over to 95-and-over)
• NTRP (3.5 to 4.5 singles and doubles; 7.0 to 9.0 mixed doubles)
• Wheelchair (including up-down doubles)
• Family Doubles (Father-Son and Parent-Child)

The adult tournaments begin Thursday, July 28, and are sanctioned by the USTA Adult Competition Committee for the first time at the Category II level. The junior divisions begin Monday, July 25, and are sanctioned as Level 7 events by USA Tennis New England.

All proceeds go to fund GSTA-JTOP (Junior Tennis Outreach Program) which provides free tennis lessons to at-risk youth.

Entry deadline: Friday, July 15 at 6 p.m.
