Brian Vahaly, pro tour player and Atlanta native, began the Brighter Future Foundation in 2003 to provide college financial assistance and support educational youth tennis programs through the USTA in Georgia. Brian will also be reaching out to those in need by donating funds to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Andy Roddick is coming back to Atlanta to support good friend Brian Vahaly and his 2nd Annual Brighter Future Foundation "Return of Service" Charity Fundraiser. The event will be held on Thursday, December 9 at Racquet Club of the South. Last years event raised $130,000 and was considered one of the best tennis events in Atlanta history. This year a Pro AM will begin at 9:30 with Brian and Andy who will be joined by Robby Ginepri, Scoville Jenkins, Dick Stockton, Mikael Pernfors, T.J. Middleton, and Ellis Ferreira. A silent and live auction will be held along with dinner, entertainment, and dancing.
"I'm really excited to have the opportunity to put on the fundraiser again this year," explained Atlanta's own Brian Vahaly. "I'm so thankful Andy is coming back to support my cause along with fellow Atlanta ATP pros, Scoville and Robby. We hope to sell out the event quickly and make it even better than last year."
The Brighter Future Foundation now offers $2500 college scholarships to high school seniors who can demonstrate a commitment to playing collegiate level tennis, a history of community service, academic achievement, sportsmanship and a commitment to their faith..
